AIM is accelerated, advanced, differentiated, and individualized instruction. Gifted stu AIM is accelerated, advanced, differentiated, and individualized instruction. Gifted students have special educational needs that can best be met in the gifted classroom. They need to be challenged, stretched, and enriched. Middle school AIM is an advanced and accelerated content area (Language Arts) class in which students will meet and exceed the minimum requirements of the parish and state curriculum grade level expectations. Because gifted students need a rigorous and challenging academic climate, AIM classes provide opportunities to “go above and beyond” the standard curriculum. Being in a small group with individualized instruction and personal attention from the teacher is something these students really need and rarely receive in the general school setting. A flexible, yet challenging classroom environment is particularly essential for AIM students. We approach learning as a fun adventure in this class. Even in this “specialized environment,” certain requirements and standards must be met and followed. AIM students will be expected to follow class and Benton Middle School rules and policies school at all times. Middle school students are expected to practice and exhibit personal responsibility. This is an area of special emphasis for us in AIM. Utilizing our time responsibly and constructively is a constant goal for us in AIM.
